I spent the first ten years of my life in a small, close-knit town in Uttar Pradesh, India. It was a place where everyone knew each other, and life moved at a gentle, predictable pace. My childhood was filled with simple joys and a strong sense of community. However, everything changed when my younger brother's special needs required us to move to the bustling capital city, New Delhi.
The transition was overwhelming at first. The fast-paced life, the sheer number of people, and the relentless competition in schools were a stark contrast to the tranquil life we had left behind. But I quickly adapted, driven by a desire to make the most of the opportunities available in the city. I studied hard, determined to keep up with the exceptional and smart students around me.
My efforts paid off when I cleared the entrance exam for one of the best schools in the country. It was here that I discovered my passion for science and engineering. I participated in numerous science competitions and quizzes, often coming out on top. These experiences honed my analytical skills and deepened my love for the subject.
The culmination of my hard work and dedication came when I aced one of the toughest exams in the world, earning a place at IIT Kanpur, the premier engineering institute in India. My time at IIT Kanpur was transformative. I thrived in the challenging environment, constantly pushing myself to learn and grow.
After graduation, I joined a startup as a management trainee, working on loyalty solutions. As a program manager for bank and retail loyalty programs, I gained invaluable experience in stakeholder management, product management principles, the software development life cycle, and agile project management methodologies. These two years were a whirlwind of learning and growth.
Next, I transitioned to operations strategy in the hospitality sector, focusing on customer experience for self-operated hotels in East and North India. This role broadened my understanding of operations and customer satisfaction.
With three years of experience under my belt, I decided to pursue an MBA from IIM Lucknow. The rigorous program expanded my business acumen and opened doors to new opportunities.
Post-MBA, I joined Kearney in management consulting. This role provided me with an exceptional opportunity to work across various sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, and consumer goods. I tackled complex problems in strategy, product management, and program management, gaining a diverse set of skills and experiences.
In June 2022, I moved to the Middle East to work on unique infrastructure and strategy projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This move marked a new chapter in my career, allowing me to contribute to groundbreaking projects and continue my journey of learning and growth.
